Christian Media International exists because we believe that everyone deserves to hear the gospel in their language at least once in their lifetime.
Founded in 2013, Christian Media International is a full-service missions organization. Its purpose is to create and Christian media and air it to international television markets. International media is a wide-open mission field that if properly engaged can help our missionaries, church plants, and national pastors. Its outlets include satellite tv, cable tv, local broadcast television, and internet television.
CMI partners with pastors and missionaries to create the Bible-based video programing that is needed for the international outlets. Our priority is to provide the Gospel as well as Biblical principles in the native languages of the countries we air in. We currently air in over 190 countries.
CMI has strategic studios around the world and also in the United States to produce the programs that air. These studios are placed with our partners and regional directors. We currently have 9 studios and plan to have 15 operational by 2025.
Once the programs air then we ask those who watched to respond and the responses are collected by our partners and responded to. These responses populate the local churches with new converts and visitors. In some cases, there are no churches to send the responses to. In this scenario CMI partners with church planters to plant churches. CMI is directly responsible for over 240 churches planted in the last 7 years
CMI is funded by churches, individual Christians, and the Christian business community and is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization.
The average cost of a broadcast around the world is less than $30 and each broadcast has the potential of reaching millions of people. When we weigh this opportunity with other opportunities we believe it has one of the best returns on investment in missions today.
Build and maintain 15 television studios around the world. We currently have nine – Georgia, US, Colombia, Venezuala, Brazil, Nigeria, Ukraine, Egypt, Mexico and Ghana.
Train studio staff to produce the needed content
Produce programming in the top 100 languages. We currently have recorded in 33 languages to date.
Air produced programming in the countries where the languages are spoken. We currently air in 190 of the 195 Countries in the world.
Work with churches on the ground to follow up with any responses from the programming.
Help facilitate the planting of additional churches in the areas where the programming is aired. We currently have planted 240 churches to date in Pakistan, India, Ukraine, Venezuela, Nigeria, Philippines, Mexico, and Romania.
In 2013 Eddie Wilson founded Christian Media International. After producing Chrisitan programming in the US it became apparent that the use of media internationally could be used as a tool for mass evangelism.
After a successful secular career in US media, Eddie was introduced to many foreign dignitaries, community leaders, and international media outlets. God used these relationships to allow the massive growth of CMI and opportunities that were rare in countries that were previously closed to the Gospel.
The first foreign broadcast that was produced went to the country of India in the Telegu language. Christian missionaries had been expelled from the country, but CMI had a wide-open door through television to preach the gospel to tens of millions of people throughout the country. This opportunity spread fast as thousands came to Christ and nearly 100 churches were planted in the first 3 years of this broadcast. It was this first opportunity that lead to now over 110 countries that enjoy the same type of outreach.
