Letter to Pastors-
I am pleased to announce that God has called me to serve Him as a missionary in the field of media.
Dear Pastor,
I am pleased to announce that God has called me to serve Him as a missionary in the field of media. For the past seven years I have worked on staff at the First Baptist Church of Hammond as well as Hyles-Anderson College. For the past five years my heart has burned with a passion to take what God has allowed me to experience and learn in the world of secular media and apply it to the command of the great commission. As you may already know, when God called me into the ministry I was involved in a very successful secular media career. I now count it a great joy to serve Him in a full time manner.
Almost two years ago I endeavored to create programing and place it on international television for the purpose of preaching the Gospel to the masses. Since that day, doors have opened all over the world. Just this past weekend, through Christian Media International, we presented the Gospel by way of television and radio to a minimum of 130 million people in 3 different languages!
Right now if I had Gospel programming in Arabic, Telegu, Mandarin, Russian, and Spanish we could be preaching the Gospel to nearly 3 billion people free of charge. It is my mission to create this programing with the help of local churches, missionaries, and Bible colleges. A secondary mission is to build as many television and radio stations internationally as finances will allow. Just this past summer I had a part in putting a television station on the air in Honduras. This station has the potential of reaching every major city in the country. I also have access to licenses in Argentina, Panama, and India. After preaching to the masses we are then taking the converts and filtering them to local churches for the purpose of followup and discipleship.
All of this seems impossible but with God’s help the world is now, more than ever, open to the preaching of the Gospel. According to the American Research Council 97% of all the world has access to electronic media. The reality is that there is a decreasing amount of American missionaries willing to go to the field. We must do something and do it quickly!
What I need from local churches and pastors is first a willingness to consider an “new option” in missions work . . . media. Next, I need you to consider supporting CMI for the impact it will make on this world for the Gospels sake. Lastly, I need many pastors who would be willing to partner with CMI to start creating a large amount of audio and video programing. Our largest need is content to take globally. I would like to present my work to you in a more personal way if you would allow. I am available to travel and present this work to you, your church , and missions conferences where it would be practical.
Please consider partnering with me. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call at (219) 945-6475.
His Servant,
Eddie Wilson
